Mosaic ("the app", "we", "us") is developed by Trofim Panasik. This policy explains what Mosaic does and does not do with your information.
Mosaic does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to us or to anyone else. Everything you create in Mosaic — your widget designs and the photos you choose — stays on your device.
Photo Library. When you choose a photo for a Photo or Canvas widget, Mosaic uses Apple's system photo picker. We only ever see the specific photo(s) you select — Mosaic never sees or reads the rest of your library. That photo is resized and stored locally on your device, in a container shared between the Mosaic app and its Home Screen widget extension (an Apple App Group), so the widget you place on your Home Screen can display it. This photo is never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or any third party.
Apple Health (HealthKit) & Motion Data. If you use the Steps or Activity widget, Mosaic requests read-only permission to access your daily step count from Apple Health (HealthKit) and device motion sensors (CoreMotion). This information is processed strictly on your device to calculate and display your daily step goal on your Home Screen widget. In strict accordance with Apple HealthKit guidelines, your health and fitness data is never used for advertising, marketing, tracking, profiling, or disclosed to any third party.
Calendar. When you enable calendar features, Mosaic requests read-only access to your calendar (EventKit) strictly to display upcoming events ("Up Next") on your widget. Event details stay on your device and are never uploaded.
Custom API Endpoints. When you configure a custom API widget, Mosaic makes direct HTTP/HTTPS requests to the endpoint URL you provide to fetch and display the metrics you want. Mosaic does not operate any proxy servers, does not log your API keys or URLs, and does not collect the responses.
Interactive Widgets & App Intents. When you interact with buttons on interactive widgets (such as incrementing counters or checking off habits in iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 or later), actions are handled locally on your device via Apple App Intents. State changes are written directly into your local App Group container without any network requests, tracking, or background telemetry.
Mosaic does not collect, track, or share:
Mosaic has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no server backend. There is nothing to log in to and your personal data never leaves your device.
Widget designs (themes, layouts, and the photos attached to them) are stored locally in Mosaic's App Group storage on your device. Deleting a design also deletes its photo. Deleting the Mosaic app deletes everything Mosaic ever stored, since none of it exists anywhere else.
Mosaic does not use any third-party advertising SDKs, tracking tools, analytics SDKs, or cloud backends.
Mosaic does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 — because it does not collect personal information from anyone at all, regardless of age.
Because no data ever leaves your device, there is no remote copy of your information for us to access, export, correct, or delete on your behalf. Uninstalling Mosaic removes everything.
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of Mosaic adds a feature that uses a third-party service — we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
